Postulate: Lindsay Lohan is one badly-lit sex tape away from being the new Paris Hilton, with the former front runner, Britney Spears, fading quickly into the back of the pack.
I have worked for several drug rehab programs in the wilderness.Really the only way to let go of the "monkey" is to change environment and totally divest yourself in doing something positive.
The programs I worked with had a 65-75% clean "slate" probability for its graduates. This is a high rate of change for an addict.
Lindsay, is a decent actress, not a good one, but she can act. It would seriously behoove her to check into a rehab that was a) not in Cali, b) not where a party scene is, and c) WHERE THE RETURN RATE WAS NOT 50-65%!
It's a dam shame I am not rich and don't own my own rehab clinic. I would outward bound these junkies back into reality.
One of the only ways to change a habit is to change the atmosphere as well. If you quit smoking, but don't quit going to the smoke-filled bars, then you will more than likely pick up the habit again. Same goes for drugs and other 'bad' stuff. You can't just quit the habit, you must quit things that are associated with the habit, too.
Lohan, Spears, Hilton, if they didn't have money would the people really care? And why do people care? If they chose to waste their lives; well, it is their choice to make. Unfortunately for Brittany, she now has two children that are looking to her as Mommy, and so far she is not doing such a bang-up job.
All three need to grow-up and realize that the World really does not revolve around them.

I know all about young rebellion, but these girls have kicked it up a notch or 2 to an entirely new level. It's like they feel entitled to slovenly float through life yet reap the rewards as if it's earned.
It's pretty pathetic that 1) they get so much press, and 2) anyone actually takes them seriously.

It's actually a damned shame as Lindsay had a hell of a lot of potential as an actress. It's not over yet, look at Drew Barrymore (not saying she's a great actress, but she's sorted herself out now) but seeing as this kind of shit appears to be encouraged now I don't fancy her chances...

What it most disturbing is that these social misfits and career trainwrecks penetrate the news to such depths that learning who smashed their car while blasted cannot be avoided without sticking one's head in a hole somewhere.
This suggests that there is a significant demand for this kind of "news", which is disturbing unto itself.
Is she looking for financial backers for her sex tape? I mean, I'm looking for good investment opportunities. Heck, if nothing else, I'll buy the tequila.
The man said 'discuss' so let's do that. For a start, Lohan, Spears, Hilton et al are all creatures of their environment and it's an environment which very few of us seriously have a yearning for. Which brings on my next and most negative comment on people of this ilk.....who fucking cares? We're all born with a sense of self and and ability to know what's right for us and what's not. People who sniff, inject or smoke substances for some kind of high which life itself simply doesn't deliver get no sympathy from me. Hell, I've smoked dope and quite frankly, it's a waste of money. I drink, & I smoke tobacco. That's enough for any one human being in my estimation and while I realise either or both can and probably will kill me to some degree, I'm not leaning heavily on the society I live in while doing it. The subjects of Wil's post do, and what's more, they get their kicks from it. Trash, that's all they are and not to be popularised. Skid-marks on the bedsheets of any civilised society which seriously need bleaching out.
