I've given up trying to feel comfortable and look cool in pictures.
So from now on ("now" being "about two months ago") it's all stuff like this. It's not a movie (yet) but this is Gabriel Ba's version of the CASANOVA poster.
Goddamn, that is beautiful. This is one of my favorite pictures from my recent trip to New York.
My book's been to nicer places than I have. I think that's pretty damn cool.
Phil Plait (pictured) writes a fantastic blog called Bad Astronomy, where he debunks crap science like the Face on Mars, Moon Hoax weirdoes, etc.
He's written a book, and he regularly posts pictures from people who have taken his book different places. He titles those posts, "Where's the BA book been?"So I had to reference that when I saw this picture of his, earlier today.
It's the highest concentration of nerd you're probably going to see (outside of CalTech or MIT) this week.
Last night's Jonathan Coulton show in Austin turned into a mini-WWdN meet-up. I couldn't be there (the drive was a little long for me) but as you can clearly see, much fun was had by all.
And, yes, Angie K already has her Wil Says . . . shirt. How cool is that?!
They have a friend named Ponce, who has Down syndrome. Ponce is an actor and a comedian, and they worked together to come up with a series of comedic shorts they could release on YouTube. They call it Retarded Policeman, and it's really, really funny.
Greg and Kim are doing with video and sketch comedy what I'm doing with publishing: refusing to take the traditional route to reach an audience, and having a lot of fun while we do it. Greg and I have been trying to find a way to do a Mediocre Film (that's the name of his production company) together for a long time, so when Greg offered me a chance to work on Retarded Policeman, I grabbed it.
I'm sure this will offend some people, but I want to make it clear that nobody is exploiting or making fun of Ponce. If anything, it's making fun of how arbitrary and, well, retarded police stops can be. This episode makes a reference to Episode 4, which was really funny until it wasn't.
